These investments provide access to new business models and technologies complementary to Deutsche Börse Group’s offerings, generate attractive investment returns and drive long-term growth. As a member of the DB1 Ventures team, you will play a key role in supporting the investment lifecycle of our existing and prospective portfolio companies.

Your responsibilities

• Deal Sourcing: Proactively identify and evaluate early- to growth-stage startups as potential investment opportunities for DB1 Ventures. This includes assessing their business model, financials, team, and the strategic fit with Deutsche Börse Group
• Investment Execution: Participate in all aspects of the due diligence process for new and follow‑on investments, including evaluating terms, conducting valuation analyses and financial modeling, and negotiating with co‑investors. You will also support the creation of transaction documents in close collaboration with the legal team
• Portfolio Management: Actively support portfolio management activities, including maximizing strategic value for Deutsche Börse Group and the startups, monitoring performance against business plans, and guiding portfolio companies through various lifecycle events, such as governance and administrative matters
• Market Research and Analyses: Conduct in‑depth research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape to identify attractive investment themes and areas of growth
• Reporting and Communication: Prepare presentations and reports for senior executives at Deutsche Börse Group, e.g., to support investment committee decisions or for portfolio monitoring & controlling purposes

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (all fields of studies considered)
• Prior professional experience or internships in (corporate) venture capital, M&A, investment banking, or with a capital markets player or fintech startup
• Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in quantitative tools and valuation methodologies
• High attention to detail and accuracy in written content, charts, and data
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as ability to work independently
• Intellectual curiosity and a genuine passion for technology and innovation within the financial services industry
• Strong work ethic characterized by commitment, a strong sense of ownership, a focus on quality, integrity, and a collaborative mindset grounded in humility and empathy
• Familiarity with Deutsche Börse Group’s businesses or portfolio companies of DB1 Ventures is a plus
• Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of German is advantageous but not a prerequisite
