Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to join our engineering team on a part-time basis (approximately 15–20 hours per week), fully remote and Australia-based. You will work under the direction of our CTO, alongside our backend, design, and content teams.

You'll have scope to integrate AI where it creates measurable product value, ensuring you grow your skills on a live, high-impact application. • Collaborative Leadership: Join a multi-disciplinary team with deep experience in FinTech, Banking, Marketing, Design and Product.

To be considered, please review the responsibilities and skills below: • Build the PayBuddy mobile app (iOS-first, cross-platform in React Native or Flutter) from our high-fidelity Figma prototype • Implement core product features to a native-quality standard, including list and detail views, in-app flows, and rich multi-format content experiences • Integrate device push notifications (APNs / FCM) and deep links, including links out to external apps and websites • Implement secure authentication flows and secure token storage on device • Consume backend and financial-data APIs delivered by the backend team • Uphold the code quality, testing, and performance standards set by the CTO • Collaborate closely with Design and Content to deliver an accessible, high-quality user experience Key Skills • 5+ years building and shipping consumer-facing mobile applications • Deep expertise in React Native or Flutter (cross-platform, single codebase), with an iOS-first mindset • A track record of shipping apps to the App Store and/or Google Play • Strong grasp of mobile authentication, secure storage, and REST / GraphQL API integration • Experience building rich media or content-driven UI (e.g. video and dynamic content) • Ability to translate high-fidelity designs into pixel-accurate, performant UI • Based in Australia and legally entitled to work here • Comfortable in a lean, pre-launch startup where pragmatism and ownership are essential Bonus Skills (not mandatory but valued) • FinTech, financial data, or other regulated consumer app experience • Familiarity with Australian Open Banking (Consumer Data Right / CDR) data flows • Push notification and deep-linking experience across iOS and Android • Native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin) knowledge alongside cross-platform work • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and an interest in how AI can accelerate build velocity • Experience with performance profiling, offline states, and accessibility Who You Are • A craft-focused senior mobile engineer who cares about performance, polish, and accessibility • Pragmatic and outcome-driven, comfortable making trade-offs in a lean team • A strong collaborator comfortable working under a CTO within a Founder-led company • A self-starter who thrives in early-stage environments ** This is an unpaid opportunity; however, the right candidate will be rewarded with a meaningful equity stake in PayBuddy based on their substantial contributions and successful completion of deliverables.

You will build the PayBuddy mobile application — iOS-first and cross-platform — translating our high-fidelity Figma prototype into a native-quality, secure, and accessible consumer app.

Role Responsibilities As a Senior Mobile Engineer at PayBuddy, you will own the mobile build of our launch product. PayBuddy currently holds a pre-launch valuation of $5 million, and we have active plans to raise capital. Specific equity terms will be confirmed during the interview process.
