Das ist der Job
Overview This is an Atlantic portfolio company.
Darum lohnt es sich
You have been exposed to high-stakes decisions, demanding teams, ambitious founders, complex technical products, or fast-scaling organisations. This is an in-person position based in Berlin or Konstanz.
About the venture We are an early-stage, VC-backed defence technology venture building a sovereign European drone platform for military and civilian security. Our systems are modular, field-ready, and designed to combine the usability and economics of commercial drones with the resilience, security, and certification required by governments.
We have signed multimillion-euro contracts, a credible path to scaled production, and a product positioned to address one of Europe’s most urgent strategic dependencies. We are hiring a Chief of Staff to work directly with the founders and help build the company into a category-defining European defence technology business.
Your role & responsibilities This is not a support or coordination role. You will work on the company’s hardest and most important problems across strategy, finance, operations, production, fundraising, hiring, partnerships, and government procurement.
You might spend one day building a financial model, the next preparing a critical customer meeting, and the next resolving a production bottleneck or driving a strategic project that has no natural owner. Your job is to create leverage for the founders, turn decisions into action, and increase the speed and quality of execution across the company.
Drive critical projects from ambiguity to finished outcome Build financial models, budgets, forecasts, and investment cases Support fundraising, investor communication, hiring, and strategic partnerships Work across engineering, production, certification, sales, and operations Build lightweight systems that help the company scale without slowing it down The scope will change constantly.
That is the point. Who you are You are exceptionally capable, highly analytical, and biased toward action. You learn unfamiliar subjects quickly, communicate with precision, and take responsibility beyond the boundaries of your formal role. You do not wait to be managed. You identify what matters, develop a view, and move.
You should have a degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, business, economics, finance, or another rigorous discipline, alongside strong financial literacy and the ability to engage credibly with engineers and commercial stakeholders. You have seen what exceptional execution looks like from the inside.
You may have worked at a high-growth startup, engineering-led company, venture capital fund, investment bank, private equity firm, top-tier consultancy, defence organisation, intelligence unit, or the military. You understand how strong companies allocate capital, hire, prioritise, communicate, and execute under pressure.
You are likely to thrive here if you are high-agency, low-ego, comfortable with incomplete information, and more interested in building than advising. Fluency in English is required. Advanced German skills required. What you will get You will work directly with the founders and have exposure to every important company decision.
The role comes with significant responsibility from day one, a steep learning curve across defence, hardware, manufacturing, finance, and government sales, competitive compensation, and meaningful equity. For the right person, this can become a senior operating role as the company scales. #J-18808-Ljbffr
