ppbMagnolia ISD /b /p pbJob Description: /b After School Adventures - Group Leader /p pbLocation: /b MISD Elementary Campus /p pbTerms of Employment: /b As Needed /p pbPosition Reports to: /b After School Adventures - Site Manager /p ul libDate Posted: /b 11/28/2023 /li libLocation: /b Districtwide /li libDate Available: /b School Year /li libClosing Date: /b Open Year Round /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liHigh school diploma or GED preferred; Associate's degree or 60 hours from an accredited college or university preferred /li liCertification in Child Care or SBEC certification preferred /li liExperience working with school-age children required /li liAbility to work well with children and provide positive behavior management techniques and developmentally appropriate activities /li liAbility to communicate in both verbal and written forms with staff, children and parents in the program; Spanish for bilingual campuses preferred /li liDemonstrated knowledge of child development theories and practices related to the physical, intellectual and social development of school-age students required /li liDemonstrates the ability to work well with others and to serve as a positive role model to the children /li /ul h3Essential Responsibilities and Duties /h3 ul liAssist the Site Manager in the implementation of program designed curriculum and daily operations at the assigned campus /li liAdhere to all procedures and expectations outlined in district and program handbooks in order to serve as a role model to participants of the program /li liLead a group of children with diverse abilities and needs to ensure safety and well-being of students at the assigned campus /li liKeep an ongoing count of those participating in assigned group/area to ensure safety and proper supervision of the children at all times /li liConduct provided activities and character development practices with children according to the program schedule /li liAdhere to proper behavior management techniques as outlined by district standards /li liCommunicate clearly and effectively in a positive manner with children, parents, colleagues, visitors, and other district personnel /li liEnsure maintenance and appropriate use of all building facilities, resources supplies and equipment with care and pride; including organization, cleanliness and daily set-up of the program /li liSupport the implementation of regular safety drills and procedures /li liAcknowledge all visitors and maintain a secure environment /li liAttend and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives (ie. trainings, leadership meetings, etc.) /li liMeet assigned deadlines /li liPerform other duties as assigned /li /ul h3Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors /h3 pMaintain emotional control under stress.
